Path to rehab

Things are moving fast over here, Tyler may start rehab as soon as this Thursday(!). We meet with the physiatrist (fiz-EYE-uh-trist) tomorrow and he will give us the full rundown of the transfer process to rehab. Once we have that, I can start planning for the type of help we will need. The rehab center is in Vallejo, so I’m certain I will need some kid pick-up and drop-off support.
In terms of Tyler’s health, like yesterday, he is medically stable and fine. His main issue is a pretty bad sore throat (being intubated twice in 2 weeks will do that to ya). When his throat is irritated he coughs, which then exacerbates his chest full of bruised ribs. So he’s downing Throat Comfort tea, lozenges, and popsicles. If anyone out there has been intubated before, your tips and tricks are welcome!
A note to future visitors: We all love Tyler A LOT and want to see his fuzzy face (yep, the beard is still happening!), but his “schedule” is subject to hospitals, doctors, Tyler’s health, and energy level. We also don’t know what the Vallejo visiting situation is quite yet, but we will keep you posted.
