I got the notification around 4:30 that Tyler had been placed on spontaneous breathing and was handling it well. This was the step we’ve been waiting for!  

By 8:55am, he was extubated and demanding justice for the nurses. “They do everything! I want to have them over for dinner!”

(And as if the universe knew, they sent Randy with donuts for the nurses 🥰)

His GI is sloooooowly improving, and he’s got plenty of oxygen breathing on his own. 

If you would like to visit, he’s not quite ready, but I will let everyone know when he is.

Tell them I love everyone so much, and I’m thinking of all of you all the time: it’s exhausting, but you are all keeping me going. I’m ready to get out of here so I can break all the records on my hand bike, as soon as they let me out.
