No news is good news

Tyler is still intubated, but he was alert and able to give yes/no answers, thumbs up, and has a really strong grip. He’s also able to smile, though challenging with the tube. I told him the story from the previous evening that involved a young raccoon and our compost bin.

His GI is progressing in the right direction. The issue was his pain meds were contributing to the backup in his gut. They changed his pain meds from opiates and hopefully his ileus will resolve. But the best thing he said today was he shook his head to “are you in any pain?”

Depending on how this evening goes, he may go off the vent tomorrow 🤞🏾
