Moving day

Moving day

We spent the morning together and I packed up his room.

Lego flower bouquet? Check.
Coloring books for Arthur? Check.
Every cable for every device? Check.

After a slight delay, transport arrived to pick up Tyler and drive him the 30 miles to the Kaiser Foundation Rehabilitation Center. They weighed him upon arrival and he’s lost 20 pounds since his accident. I guess nearly 2 weeks without solid food will do that.

Since it’s the weekend, the rehab center was pretty quiet. Classes start on Monday, so today was about intake and moving in. The biggest difference I noticed so far between the hospital and the rehab center is the scheduling. Everything from bathroom breaks to showers to eating is on a set schedule. The entire 3 weeks we’ve been in the hospital, we were subject to the various fluid schedules of hospital teams and staff. But now, we can expect a more regular cadence to the days.

Once we get his schedule, and he’s feeling stronger, he’ll be able to welcome visitors again.
