He who farts longest farts best

I arrived early and Tyler was on his side and said he thought he might be setting a record for farting πŸ˜‚

He had a lot more sensation in his legs -- think pins and needles when you've sat on the toilet too long. The PM&R (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician, also called a physiatrist) stopped by and he's not quite ready for rehab, but we do have a sense of what that will entail.

Think hospital gym camp.

He'll stay there inpatient for about a month, where he will do 3-6 hours of therapy per day. After his inpatient stay, he will continue for a few months as an outpatient with the expectation of a new baseline between 6 and 9 months. This includes his primary PM&R, Rehab Nurse, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Durable Medical Equipment Coordinator, Social Worker, Registered Dietician, Neuropsychologist, Respiratory Therapist, Recreation Therapist, and Adaptive Sports Consultant.

The path to our new normal is about a year. I know this is tough for some of you to hear, but I want you to know that he is not sad about this. He has a project, he has new goals, and he's a pathological A+ student so I do not doubt that we'll be okay, we just don't know what okay looks like yet.
