10 days, 13 hours, 27 minutes.
Today was slightly up from last night, but not a lot of change. I was up early again to join morning rounds. Each day is a reset, so the docs start with a summary of new or resolved issues from the previous 24 hours, his vitals, and his pain management. Tyler is an "interesting and complex case" (two of my favorite things to hear a doctor say ๐).
If you are interested in what makes him Mr. Interesting and Complex, you'll just have to wait to ask him when he's extubated ๐
The big issues now remain his GI and lungs. His gut still needs a restart, but as his nurse Erick said, "the gut is the laziest and slowest system in the whole body." And for the lungs, repeated courses of respiratory therapy, including using something called Mycomist, which smells like bully sticks (IYKYK).๐คฎ
The docs reminded me that big changes happen constantly, and we're due for some swings in the right direction.
Here's hoping . . . ๐ค๐พ
